Since 1979 Sam Small has been telling stories in commercials and documentaries, delivering complicated content in entertaining and engaging ways. For Sam’s last eight years in Manhattan, before moving to Maui, he was V.P. of Broadcast Production Services at Prudential Financial where his full-time job was to build and run an in-house production facility, while directing and editing all the company's national television commercials. Growing up as an A.V. geek and then getting a degree in human communication, Sam has always worked both the technical and content sides of production. Hawaii Island Humane Society's Animal Community Center in Kona opened to the public in August of 2021. Our Animal Community Center (ACC) is ideally situated in Holualoa, with 12 expansive, well-kept acres. The ACC features 3 Dog Dorms with adoptable dogs and puppies, a Cat Barn with adoptable cats, kittens, and small mammals, 2 dog parks that are open to the public, a retail shop where you can shop for your best friend (100% of the profits go to support the shelter animals of Hawaii Island Humane Society), and more. Come visit our animals, learn about our programs, and get involved by adopting, fostering, volunteering, and donating.
