Akalei Designs is the original and largest producer of handcrafted beaded Hawaiian Lei. With over one hundred unique designs we were recently awarded “Best Beaded Lanyard” from The American Kumihimo Society (2023) for our complex braids. In addition our silk Hawaiian necklace is being showcased in a TV commercial for the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement Pop-Up Makēkē Market on an ad. And another positive compliment was three of our designs were selected in a juried art exhibit in Oahu by The Hawaiian Handweavers Hui. Makai Glass Maui is an Upcountry studio and gallery creating hand-blown glass art inspired by Hawaiʻi’s ocean, volcanoes, and wildlife. Founded by artists Justin Brown and Randy Schaffer, Makai showcases whales, dolphins, turtles, waves, jellyfish, murrini vessels, pineapples, and custom lighting pieces. Every sculpture is crafted on site in our Hāliʻimaile hot shop, where visitors can watch live glassblowing and explore a gallery filled with unique island-made art. Waikulu Distillery is a Farm to Bottle producer of spirits made from blue agave (agave tequilana). Every portion of the process is hand-crafted in small batches on our farm, from growing, harvesting and processing, to the distilling, bottling, and labeling.
